BIZU is not only all about authentic French sayings, but also meaningful and funny expressions. There are so many cool, or funky words in French, it’s sometimes hard to choose one among all of them. I truly praise stories that make a word, a phrase, a sentence unique and memorable.

It’s also a way to share my passion and love for French language. As a woman who travels (I’ve lived in 4 foreign countries, and visited at least 20), I enjoy hearing my mother tongue in countries outside of France. It always makes me smile no matter how good the pronunciation is.

‘Femme fatale’ translates to ‘fatal woman’. This archetype of cinema depicts a mysterious and seductive woman. Picture a sensual woman with red lipstick smoking a cigarette and speaking with a sultry voice.

You’ll see what I’m talking about once you watch the 2002 eponym film by Brian De Palma, or if you see Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct, or even Eva Green in James Bond’s Casino Royal & Sin City. If you’re still unsure what a femme fatale looks like, check out this WikiHow page that lists out the steps to turn yourself into one.

It is quite simple, but I wanted to play with the first letter of both words. In French cursive, the letter ‘F’ looks really sexy with the curls that remind of women curves. As for the colours blue & red, I obviously wanted to play with the main colours that represent France.

Try saying it like this “fem fetaal”
